Job Summary and Qualifications
The Trauma Program Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining a cost-effective system of care for trauma patients and their families throughout their care in the continuum at CMC. The Trauma Program Manager works both independently and in collaboration with the trauma program medical director, EMS and other members of the health care team and leadership staff. The Trauma Program Manager is self-directed and self-motivated, plans and conducts work with minimal direction, and reports the progress of work to the Clinical Director of Emergency Services and VP of Emergency Services. The Trauma Program Manager will also serve as a liaison and resource between the hospital and EMS providers, Fire Services, Ambulance Services and Police. The Trauma Program Manager will also develop and maintain a relationship with the EMS medical Director and NH State trauma authorities, serving on various committees as appropriate.
Maintains clinical practice expertise
Supports and adheres to CMC policies, procedures, philosophy and mission.
Develops policies and procedures based on current best practice and State of NH trauma directives.
Plans, coordinates, implements and evaluates all activities of Catholic Medical Center trauma patient care under the direction of the Trauma Medical Director.
Assists in the development, organization and evaluation of the Catholic Medical Center Trauma plan and participates in the development of trauma care systems at the community and state levels. Participates in State Trauma committees.
Conducts concurrent monitoring and evaluation of trauma system plan by ongoing review of all trauma medical records. Documents such review in the trauma registry. Identifies corrective action plans as appropriate.
Schedules the annual meetings of the trauma committee, prepares agendas and selects cases for review according to the operational guidelines of the trauma committee. Acts as chairperson for the trauma committee.
Monitors clinical processes and outcomes and issues related to the quality of care provided, and utilizes this information in the PIPS process improvement process.
Maintains current knowledge of trauma care through research, conferences, self-study and maintenance of certifications.
Responsible for improving Trauma Services Programs competitive position in the marketplace by identifying potential customer relationships
Coordinates the preparation for statewide and American College of Surgeons trauma system designation site visit.
Respond to trauma team activations that occur during work hours. Provides guidance as needed in trauma response while monitoring the quality of care provided.
Assists the Emergency department ED physician director as needed for CMC resource hospital initiatives.
Responsible for oversight, maintenance, review, quality assurance and adherence to NH TEMSIS computerized Patient Care Reporting system for all services and patients transported to Catholic Medical Center in accordance with the criteria and guidelines set forth and at the direction of the Medical Director of Emergency Services.
Responsible for Catholic Medical Center’s activities relating to National, State, Regional and local trauma events.
Collaborates with agencies and community service chiefs to support their efforts to provide quality patient care including QI and training programs.
Functions as a liaison between Catholic Medical Center and the State Bureau of Trauma.
Interpret and implement policies and procedures; make recommendations for revisions; assist with updating policies and procedures for trauma and EMS services.
What qualifications you will need:
Education:
+ Nursing degree required.
+ BSN required
Experience:
+ Minimum of three years caring for trauma patients required.
Licensure/Certification:
+ Current registration in the State of NH as a Registered Nurse
+ Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC required. CEN certified preferred
