    Overview

     

    We are seeking anCentralized Scheduler, internally referred to as Centralized Scheduler or Admitting Scheduler, in our Admitting/Registration Department. As a Centralized Scheduler, you routinely schedule tests/procedures for cases for all patients where services occur as a scheduled event.

     

    Shift’s Available : Days

     

    Employment Type : Full Time

     

    Hours : 8-hour shifts

     

    Location : Providence Medical Center (PMC), Kansas City, KS

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

    + Schedules clinic visits including but not limited to: surgery, G.I. Lab, Cardiac Cath Lab, Radiology, Respiratory Therapy, Nutritional Services, Infusion units or any other location where scheduling of a test or procedure may occur

    + Coordinates with departments as necessary

    + Ensures that accurate, complete and thorough patient demographics are entered into the computer system, including insurance and authorizations, if applicable

    + Notifies departments as necessary of various services that may require, equipment, instrumentation and supplies from outside vendors for scheduled surgeries

    + Prepares and distributes the surgical schedule and on call list to appropriate departments or personnel

    Qualifications

    Education and Work Experience

     

    Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

     

    + High school graduate or GED Equivalent Required (effective 4/1/14 for all new hires)

    + Knowledge of multiple insurance authorization requirements

    + Knowledge of medical terminology

    + Effective written and verbal communication skills

    + Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines

    + Analytical and problem-solving skills

    + Customer service experience

    + Strong clerical and computer skills

    Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:

    + 1-2 years previous experience in a hospital environment
