Job Summary and Qualifications
Provides supportive help to the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy as a pharmacy technician under the general supervision of a licensed pharmacist and within the scope of practice as a pharmacy technician established by the department of pharmacy and the Texas State Board of Pharmacy, and other duties as assigned.
What you will do in this role:
+ Fills orders for medications with speed and accuracy for pharmacist to check prior to delivery. Verify orders with medications prior to pharmacist check. (No medication variances with improper filling of orders).
+ Maintains & accurately fills the automated dispensing machines. Ensures that a double check of floor stock prior to fill. (No medication variances with improper filling of orders). .
+ Accurately performs routine manufacturing and prepackaging. Maintains accurate and complete records of all manufacturing and prepackaging. Ensures that a pharmacist checks all work
+ Demonstrates ability to communicate clearly, directly, and professionally. Does not participate in gossip.
+ Performs work within specified time frames. Adapt positively to frequent changes 3.
+ Alerts supervisor when others are not following HCA and/or pharmacy procedures. Reporting of errors and inappropriate behavior.
+ Accepts and volunteers for assignments designed to benefit the department and the organization.
What qualifications you will need:
+ State License Pharmacy Intern, or State Registration Pharmacy Technician
+ Completion of Pharmacy Tech Program with Certification B.
+ Licensure/Certification/Registration: Texas Pharmacy Technician License.
+ At least one year of previous hospital experience preferred.
+ Special qualification: Data processing/entry, familiarity with computer systems. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
