Job Summary and Qualifications

Physician Services (PS) is a part of HCA, the world’s largest for-profit healthcare provider. Our mission at PS is to practice the best medicine, produce superior patient experiences, achieve operational excellence, and collaborate with other healthcare partners so that the communities we serve reap the benefits of high-quality, cost-effective care. With over 13,000 employees nationwide, the medical teams at PSG support over 800 physician practices and have over 9 million patient encounters annually.

The internship program includes:

+ Learn to present data formally and informally and facilitate discussion regarding data outputs

+ Gain an understanding of proper validation principles

+ Exposure to HCA’s data model environment

+ Learn to utilize essential SQL language skillset to troubleshoot and test reporting objectives

+ Learn to provide moderate analysis and ad hoc operational reports as requested

+ Learn to provide in-depth “what if” analysis of data using available tools

+ Execute data integrity/validation routines

+ Learn to Utilize problem-solving skillset to triage and solve fundamental business problems and issues

+ Learn to Use and support database applications and analytical tools, evaluate data quality, applications, and workflow functions

+ Learn to Format, execute, distribute, and interpret reports using the available tools

+ Learn to Respond to requests for reporting using standard templates or pre-defined reporting

+ Learn to utilize a standardized and consistent approach relating Business Intelligence (BI) and Analytics

+ Learn to Execute routine production data processes

**Pre-Requisites to Program Participation** :

+ Present enrollment in an accredited 4-year accounting program required

+ Excellent knowledge of the entire MS Office Suite and outstanding Excel skills (pivot tables, macros, etc.)

+ Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and analytical skills

+ Excellent oral and written communication skills
