    Summary:

    The Driver / Warehouse position is responsible for maintaining a professional appearance and thorough knowledge of the materials delivered to customers. This role involves safely operating vehicles and handling materials in accordance with company safety standards and applicable state and federal regulations. In addition to deliveries, this position also performs a variety of warehouse duties including receiving, storing, and distributing materials, tools, equipment, and products. Accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism are essential to all job functions.

     

    Reports to: Warehouse Manager or Profit Center Manager

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + High school diploma or GED

    + Valid California Class C Driver’s License (must be maintained in good standing)

    + Ability to drive within a 100-mile radius (typical range), with occasional longer-distance routes as needed

    + Must meet all California DMV requirements for commercial driving, including a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + 3 to 4 years of experience in material handling preferred

    + 3 to 4 years of customer service experience preferred

    + 2+ years of experience in the electrical supply industry preferred

    Working Conditions:

    This position operates primarily in a warehouse setting with regular outdoor exposure. The role uses standard office equipment (computers, phones, photocopiers) and standard warehouse tools (hand trucks, forklifts, box cutters, tape dispensers, RF guns). Delivery responsibilities may involve driving in various weather and traffic conditions.

    Essential Job Functions:

    + Deliver company materials to customers in a professional, timely, and safe manner

    + Drive automatic and/or manual transmission vehicles (legally and safely); traffic violations may jeopardize driver status

    + Load and unload trucks for delivery and shipping/receiving

    + Read customer, shipping, and work orders to determine what needs to be picked, packed, or transferred

    + Move, sort, and store inventory by following predetermined placement systems

    + Use RF scanners and company software to manage orders and inventory

    + Perform cycle counts and assist in physical inventory processes

    + Operate forklifts and wire cutters as needed

    + Maintain a clean and organized warehouse at all times

    + Ensure safe and clear access for customers and sales team members

    + Assist walk-in and will-call customers when required

    + Maintain awareness of driving time limits and rest break requirements in accordance with California labor laws

    Compensation Range:

    The compensation range for this position is $20 to $22 hourly.
