Do you have personal or professional experience within or in support of programs serving youth and families and/or the child welfare system? If this sounds like a good fit to you, we are seeking applicants for a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Specialist (PSR) – Case Aide to join the Division of Youth Safety and Permanency, Child Welfare Program located at our Coeur d'Alene office . This position will need to be able to work autonomously, within teams, as well as working with other agencies and programs while gaining extensive knowledge of Child and Family Services activities, programs, and policies and must display reliability, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, effective business writing skills, a high level of professionalism, and an exceptional ability to successfully coordinate and complete multiple tasks. Punctuality and dependability are key for this position and ability to work in the office and out in the field including going to client’s homes.

IMPORTANT: Incumbents will be required to participate in the Child Welfare Academy in order to learn Idaho child welfare practices and standards and complete Child Welfare Academy assignments. During the probationary period, incumbents carry a reduced child welfare caseload under the guidance of child welfare supervisors or designated experienced child welfare social workers to gain knowledge and expertise necessary to provide professional child welfare services to children and families who are subjects of child abuse or neglect. *Some travel will be required.
This position may be eligible for telework after successful completion of probation and necessary training. Approval to telecommute is not guaranteed and subject to termination at any time.
The Idaho Department of Health & Welfare is a drug-free workplace. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
Child Well-Being Support
+ Track child medical appointments and coordinate follow-up services for vision, dental, medical, and medication care.
+ Collect medical records and upload to electronic file system.
+ Complete, submit, and track residential admissions paperwork, to include Medicaid process.
+ Make referrals to Idaho Infant Toddler Program, per Standard guidance.
+ Complete formal referrals for mental health services.
+ Assist with coordination of school transportation for foster youth.
+ Administer Independent Living assessment tool and make Independent Living referrals.
+ Coordinate parent participation in child routines and activities.
Concurrent Planning Support.
+ Organize family team meetings and coordinate follow-up tasks.
+ Complete Child and Family Social and Medical Information Forms, to include paternity identification and assist with process establishment; Tribal identification and assist with sending Tribal notices; and identify relative supports and assist with making relative locate referrals.
+ Complete outgoing Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC) applications.
+ Coordinate parent/child visits.
+ Coordinate and track compliance with appropriate child court notifications.
+ Complete collateral contacts with service providers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIALTY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
You must possess all the minimum/specialty minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. Please make sure your resume or work history supports your meeting the minimum and specialty qualifications for this position. Failure to do this may disqualify you from being considered for this position. It is highly recommended to attach a one-page cover letter to your application to demonstrate how you meet the requirements below.
+ Good knowledge of human services principles and practices including behavioral management methods, social and family systems, cognitive behavioral education and case management methods. Typically gained by a certification as a psychosocial rehabilitation specialist in accordance with USPRA requirements OR bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, behavioral science, special education, psychosocial rehabilitation or healthcare or related field from a nationally accredited university or college OR 2-4 upper division courses as stated above AND 2-4 years’ work experience OR experience that represents the knowledge level above.
+ Computer literacy for data entry, electronic mail, composing reports and letters, and storing and retrieving documents.
+ Valid driver's license.
