    About this role:

    Wells Fargo is seeking two Senior Lead Business Accountability Consultant to manage models within the Investment Portfolio (IP) BRASS Model Management team. The role will support efficient and effective compliance of Model Policy and Procedures and the documentation of model-level control activities, and the retention of evidence of control execution. We are looking for a results-driven individual who has a strong understanding of model risk management, change management, and controls. Attention to detail is critical.

     

    Department Overview

     

    The IP BRASS Model Management team drives model management BAU activities and initiatives for the Investment Portfolio. The team provides horizontal support for model management including establishing and executing model risk controls, simplifying and streamlining model management procedure and processes, as well as leading model related initiatives and audit/exam requests. The model management team supports the following teams, Capital Markets, Finance, Portfolio Strategy & Analytics, Mortgage Model Development Center, and Derivatives Risk Management.

    In this role, you will:

    + Manage model change of both complex and simple model change projects, working closely with model owners, model developers and model validators. Ensuring the model change project are on track, documentation meets governance requirements and escalate issues and risk to management.

    + Partner closely with model developers, model owners and validation team to ensure model and governance documentation accurately reflects model risk and impacts, as appropriate.Provide credible challenge to model developers, owners and validators to ensure governance requirements are met while also ensuring solid model risk management.

    + Facilitate negotiations across model owner, developer and validator representatives to address multidimensional impacts of model changes.

    + Primary contact for all testing, audit and examinations, coordinating materials, facilitating discussions.

    + Participate in leadership model risk workshop to influence enterprise model risk strategies.

    + Quality control the work from junior members in the model management team.

    + Training to junior team members and other stakeholders on model policy compliance, IP model governance procedures and controls.

    + Execute IP model management deliverables for Capital Markets, Finance, Portfolio Strategy & Analytics, Mortgage Model Development Center, and Derivatives Risk Management.

    Required Qualifications:

    + 7+ years of risk management, business controls, quality assurance, business operations, compliance, or process experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

    Desired Qualifications:

    + Experience in risk management, business controls, quality assurance, business operations, compliance, or process, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

    + Experience in model risk governance or process driven roles in mortgage models, capital planning models, and capital markets models.

    + Effective communication with Business Groups (i.e. excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills)

    + Familiarity with Mortgage, capital planning, and capital markets products

    + Subject matter expertise in Model Risk Management policy and its implementation

    + Demonstrated ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with other business and functional areas

    + Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership abilities

    + Experience in working across one or more geographic territories or regions especially with teams in the US.
