Description
At Fashion/Fitness & Cross-category tech, we leverage advanced AI technologies, including the latest Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI (GenAI), to build personalized customer experiences. We're seeking innovative Data Scientists passionate about leveraging advanced AI to tackle complex challenges in product intelligence, data integration, and knowledge discovery. In this role, you'll collaborate with our principal scientists, as well as teams across Amazon to drive customer-focused solutions and amplify the impact of your work on our global customer base.
Key job responsibilities
- Design and implement solutions using the latest LLM and GenAI technologies to enhance product and customer understanding at unprecedented scale.
- Develop approaches to extract, generate, and validate product and customer attributes and relationships using multimodal AI, combining text, image, and structured data analysis.
- Create systems that can automatically surface high-quality products from large candidate pool using Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Implement natural language processing and computer vision solutions to extract insights from diverse data sources, including web content, user-generated data, and product imagery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI-driven insights into Amazon's product selection strategies and decision-making processes.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of data scientist experience
- 3+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience
- 3+ years of machine learning/statistical modeling data analysis tools and techniques, and parameters that affect their performance experience
- Experience applying theoretical models in an applied environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a ML or data scientist role with a large technology company
- Experience with big data: processing, filtering, and presenting large quantities (100K to Millions of rows) of data
- Experience with gigabyte and terabyte size data
- Experience with AWS services including S3, Redshift, Sagemaker, EMR, Kinesis, Lambda, and EC2

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $125,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
