Description
We are looking to hire an experienced, thoughtful, strategic Copywriter to join the Brand Innovation Lab team. The candidate needs to have a knack for staying at the forefront of technology, delivering clear, compelling narratives and copy for our brand partners, and out-of-the-box big ideas.
As a Copywriter on the Brand Innovation Lab team, you'll be creating one-of-a-kind campaigns for a wide range of global Financial Services, Services, and Travel brands (i.e. Geico, Indeed, Expedia, Booking.com and more).
You'll partner with creative directors, copywriters, designers, strategists, solutions managers, creative technologists and producers to create innovative work using the full Amazon canvas (i.e. 40+ brands including Prime Video, TNF, Alexa, Twitch, IMDb, Amazon Music, Amazon Live) and campaigns that benefit the end customer while meeting client needs and pushing the creative envelope.
Your portfolio should feature interesting, insight-driven campaigns and ideas that solve brand problems through a variety of different media channels, including but not limited to video, social, digital, activations, radio, gaming, and outdoor. This role will be client-facing, so having good presentation skills to share work in a succinct and compelling way is important.
Key job responsibilities
* Concept, present, and execute innovative ad campaigns and experiences for travel and services brands.
* Partner with Art Directors, Designers, Program Managers, Developers, Strategists and Producers to create customer-focused solutions that deliver on advertiser objectives.
* Works collaboratively in developing campaigns, identifying problems, and inventing solutions with minimal guidance.
* Collaborates with clients, internal teams, and 3P vendors.
* Data-driven and obsessed with understanding customer behavior to invent and simplify.
* Create concepts, present and execute campaigns on behalf of our advertiser’s needs.
* Ideate and create digital experiences, ad products, commercials, branded content, and event activations.
* Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines.
A day in the life
From inception through launch, you will be responsible for ideating and delivering ambitious concepts and using data to iterate and improve, translating needs and constraints into simple, intuitive, and creative customer-focused solutions. You will be comfortable with leading ideation sessions, presenting and articulating end-to-end experiences, and turning that vision into high-quality advertising campaigns. Your daily activities may include:
• Brainstorming and improving campaign ideas and creating presentation decks
• Presenting a campaign to brand clients and their partner media agency
• Partnering with Amazon Music to create a CX that drives charity donations for a FinServ client
• Designing a digital travel experience for a brand inspired by a Prime Video original
• Working through creative messaging feedback with clients, Legal and PR
About the team
Brand Innovation Lab (BIL) is an award-winning advertising team that conceptualizes and executes bespoke advertising experiences for brands who invest in media with Amazon Ads, scaling successful campaign elements as new products or features in existing products. Our global team of storytellers and innovators includes creatives, strategists, design technologists, engineers, producers and more, collaborating to create customer-obsessed solutions across the Amazon canvas (Alexa, Twitch, Prime Video, Fire TV, etc.) that are customized to our advertisers' goals.
Basic Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience at advertising agencies and/or in-house creative departments.
- Must have an online portfolio URL in your resume demonstrating big thinking that can extend into any medium.
- Strong understanding of digital and social platforms, as well as their use within marketing.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills, including the ability to present concepts clearly and persuasively to colleagues, partners, stakeholders, and especially to senior executives.
- Exceptional writing skills that demonstrate the ability to create campaign content that attracts, retains, and grows an audience.
- Must have experience in video production.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $108,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
