Job Description
Position Purpose:
Responsible for identifying, monitoring, and maintaining control systems, standard practices, etc. as well as providing resolutions on environmental compliance regulations in concert with related company compliance programs and policies and procedures affecting the company's existing and/or proposed environmental issues. At the direction of immediate supervisor, acts in a liaison capacity with company personnel regarding guidance and interpretation of all environmental compliance policies and procedures.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
+ Maintain and monitor environmental control systems in your work area to ensure that the proper compliance measures are in effect to avoid potential liabilities at the facility.
+ Establish appropriate action plans to resolve existing and/or potential compliance issues and monitor implementation to insure that regulatory requirements are in compliance with facility standards.
+ Develop, implement, and provide guidance on all compliance programs and update standard facility practices to meet the needs of the facility(s).
+ Coordinates facility preparation for audits and assessments by federal, state, and local agencies to insure appropriate compliance with established regulatory requirements.
+ Provides appropriate research and investigation to support the development of existing and/or potential environmental policies as determined by management or required by federal, state, or local governmental agencies.
+ Supervises staff within the wastewater treatment areas
+ Ensure proper operation of the wastewater treatment area in order to maintain compliance with all permit, client, and Veolia operational requirements
+ Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background:
+ BS in Science/Engineering or a related discipline preferred; or with 5 to 8 years in the industrial or municipal wastewater treatment industry or related work experience.
+ Class I Waste Water Operator License (or ability to obtain by year end.)
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
+ Extensive knowledge in environmental compliance methodologies with a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory capacity.
+ Strong computer and communication skills
