    Description

Amazon Books is seeking a Books Risk Management (BRM) Risk Prevention Program Manager to lead our most complex root cause investigations and translate findings into strategic improvements across key program areas. This role owns root cause investigation, corrective action definition, and drives the roadmap for a strategic risk problem space. You'll tackle systemic issues affecting authors, publishers, and readers, implementing changes that prevent these problems from recurring through cross-organizational partnerships.

Working directly with business leaders and product teams, you'll lead investigations into critical issues and identify systemic patterns. Through these insights, you'll drive comprehensive improvements across the organization - changes that can influence everything from product development to operational excellence. When you succeed, problems that once seemed inevitable become impossible to repeat.

BRM Risk Prevention Managers work autonomously to manage multiple, large-scale issues effectively. Success in this role demands to persuade leaders and stakeholders, using both data and anecdotes to build compelling cases for addressing our most persistent and critical risks. The environment is fast-paced and challenging, with shifting priorities that require quick adaptation and sound judgment.

    Key job responsibilities

    * Lead root cause analysis on broad-scale and high-risk issues that result in meaningful corrective actions with internal stakeholders.

    * Lead war-room calls to triage high-risk issues quickly with internal stakeholders.

    * Independently strategize and drive solutions with internal stakeholders to reduce business risk and improve the customer experience.

    * Assess known and emerging risks and threats within Books that directly impact the customer and Amazon business operations.

    * Monitor execution of fixes and feature changes to ensure the delivery is in line with the expected outcome and target date.

    * Proactively communicate clearly, concisely, and consistently with all stakeholders through various channels including ongoing program status reports.

    * Partner with Legal, PR, ECR and BRM Operations leaders to develop or improve BRM operational processes and policies.

    * Maintain quality of products through continuous measurement of impact, program and product effectiveness and suggest improvements.

    * Research and recommend innovative technology solutions to manage complex threat and risk situations.

    * Maintain executive relationships to drive organizational change
