    CHILDREN'S OUTREACH COUNSELOR

    Mobile Position in communities surrounding Burlington, MA

     

    $21.25 per hour

     

    We are seeking a full time Community Outreach Counselor to provide outreach and support to youth and families as part of a treatment team consisting of a Clinicians and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Outreach counselors support implementation of treatment plans and help youth and families make progress toward treatment goals.

    Who You Are:

    A high school diploma or equivalent and 2-years of relevant experience working with youth, or a qualifying bachelor’s degree or associate’s degree in a human services field from an accredited institution and 1-year of relevant experience working with youth. Additionally, the individual must be 21 years or older and maintain a flexible schedule including afternoon and evening availability. The individual must hold a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle. Candidates who are bilingual/bicultural, have experience working with youth with behavioral challenges, or who have lived experience are encouraged to apply.

    What You Will Do:

    + Support clinical goals for treating the youth’s emotional or behavioral needs as well as improving the families’ ability to effectively support the youth’s successful functioning in the home and community, using a person-centered, trauma-informed, and strengths-based approach.

    + Provide direct one-to-one strength-based supports to youth, including coaching and training to improve daily living, social and communication skills in the youth’s home or community settings.

    + Maintain contact with team and providers, and engage in case management, as needed.

    + Participate in daily Support and Stabilization team meetings, and departmental staff meetings and trainings as required.

    + Participate in Treatment Planning/Review meetings as assigned.

    + Engage in weekly supervision.

    + Adhere to Edinburg Center policies and procedures.

    + Consult with other professionals, as appropriate.

    + Keeps abreast of and shares relevant current literature.

    + Performs other job duties as required and consistent with the nature of the job.

    At work, we are psychiatrists, social workers, clinicians, nurses, behavior specialists, peer specialists, board certified behavior analysts, direct service staff and employment specialists.
