Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking **Sr Principal DevOps Engineer** . This position will be located in **Huntsville** **,** **AL** and will support the Sentinel program.
What you get to do
The selected Sr. Principal DevOps Engineer will provide support for the Sentinel program. The selected candidate will support the Software Infrastructure team to develop and deploy Infrastructure as a Service and Platform as a Service capability. In this role, the DevOps Engineer will architect system requirements and model the Physical and Logical architecture to facilitate design, collaborating with engineers across disciplines throughout development. Additionally, the DevOps Engineer determines required COTS tools and functionality necessary to support requirements. The DevOps team is responsible for the security governance, risk management, and compliance of a system while it is being engineered for our customers.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience: Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Security Clearance: Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance and ability to obtain and maintain a SAP
- Certification: Must possess a DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher (e.g., Security+, CISSP).
- Cybersecurity Knowledge: Familiarity with Cybersecurity technologies, NIST standards, and RMF governance.
- Scripting Skills: Hands-on experience with Python and/or PowerShell scripting.
- Operating Systems: Deep knowledge of Windows and Linux administration.
- Virtualization: Experience with hypervisors such as ESXi, Hyper-V.
- Database Expertise: Proficient in relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and non-relational databases (e.g., MongoDB).
- Application Deployment: Experience with Kubernetes or similar tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Degree: Master’s degree in computer science or related STEM field.
- Certification: Current CISSP or equivalent certification.
- Security Clearance: Active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
- Automation: Experience with Ansible for configuration management.
- Problem Solving Abilities: Technical trouble shooting of software applications and integrating COTS products, resulting in system accreditation.
- Methodologies: Understanding of SCRUM and AGILE methodology.
- Tools: Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, GitLab.

Salary Range: $131,100.00 - $196,700.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
