    What impact you’ll make

     

    As a member of the Environmental, Health and Safety team, you will be an active contributor to the Allentown, PA and Parsippany, NJ manufacturing locations. In this role you will work together with the EHS Leader to integrate EHS programs into daily operations to assure regulatory compliance and achieve continuous performance improvement, while meeting EHS performance objectives. In partnership with cross-functional departments, work to develop programs and objectives to achieve these goals in alignment with business goals and values.

    Job Description

    What you’ll do

    + Implement business Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs as required in partnership with EHS Leader for the two U.S. sites and cross-functional teams within Metem and business teams within Global Supply Chain.

    + Prepare regulatory reports and conduct environmental, health and safety inspections.

    + Together with cross-functional members, lead the validation of health, safety and environmental Frameworks in Gensuite to imbed EHS procedures into the site culture.

    + Work together with operations and maintenance to ensure implementation of contractor safety screening management program (ComplyWorks) and daily coordination of contractor safety permits and job safety analyses (JSA) and point of work risk assessments (POWRA).

    + Drive improvements in site EHS culture, awareness, and accountability and embrace and utilize 5S lean methodology to drive sustainable actions towards EHS culture.

    + Work with the cross-functional teams to operationalize the Life Saving Rules (LSR) within the organization.

    + Develop and facilitate site-level EHS trainings at the two Metem U.S. sites.

    + Perform site audits, JSA’s and complete hazard risk assessments and work with management team to implement corrective actions.

    + Conduct incident / accident investigations and develop corrective and preventative action plans through robust root cause analyses (5-whys and/or 8D methodology).

    + Actively contribute to procedure updates and execute site EHS programs including, but not limited to, LOTO; Crane safety; Ergonomics; and the Industrial Hygiene Program (including hearing conservation and monitoring, Qualitative Site assessments and Respiratory protection).

    + Provide tactical issue resolutions and training at the facility level.

    What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)

    + Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field and 2+ years' experience in EHS; OR High School diploma/GED and 6 years of EHS experience.

    + Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA regulations.

    + Experience in writing standard operating procedures (SOP) in environmental health and safety.

    Additional Eligibility Requirements:

    + This role is 100% onsite and will travel to both GE Vernova Metem US facilities in Allentown, PA and Parsippany, NJ.

    + This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government export restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Persons (U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents and protected individuals (e.g., certain refugees and asylees)). GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

    + Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting.

    + Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc.

    + Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation.

    + Occasional need to reach and/or work above and below the shoulder.

    + Must be alert to equipment in the field.

    + Occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery.

    + Occasional need to walk on uneven ground.

    What will make you stand out

    + Process safety management knowledge and experience.

    + Environmental, Health and Safety certifications preferred (CSP, CIH, CHMM etc.).

    + Experience with root cause methodology using 5-whys and/or 8D methodology.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to lead training sessions.

    + Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, engineering and other leadership.

    + Problem solving mindset with attention to detail.

    + Change management and employee engagement experience.

     

    _Pay Transparency_

     

    _The base pay range for this position_ _is $77,900-$97,000._ _The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 5% performance bonus/variable incentive_ _compensation/equity._

     

    _*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas._
