Job Description Summary
The Site Production Planning Leader is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive production plans to meet customer demands and ensure efficient manufacturing operations. This role is also a People Leader role, and is expected to monitor performance against established targets playing a fundamental and strategic role for the site.
Reporting to the Senior Site Materials Leader, the Site Production Planning Leader is responsible for customer communications, service levels, load and capacity alignment, S&OP and MPS processes to ensure optimal production efficiency, inventory levels and alignment with business objectives.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
+ Owner of site Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) and Master Production Schedule (MPS) processes.
+ Collaborate on the establishment and control of weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly sales plans.
+ Ensure appropriate and optimized level loading seeking for inventory turns and productivity improvement.
+ Support production planning execution control and root cause analysis and corrective action planning for missed adherence identifying and addressing systemic issues and constraints.
+ Improve planning tools, ERP functionality, and reporting capabilities to support business growth and evolving operational needs.
+ Lead production planning DMS and perform genba walks seeking for opportunities including safety wise.
+ Lead customers communications and root cause analysis. Responsible for site service levels KPIs. Partner cross-functionally with Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Customer Service teams to communicate schedule changes, resolve issues, and mitigate risks to customer commitments.
+ Lead and coach master schedulers and production planners providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to support team development and achieving planning state of the art.
+ Propose and lead breakthrough projects for site production planning and be an advocate for Lean culture.
+ Implement and sustain Lean scheduling practices and inventory strategies to optimize material flow, improve inventory turns, and reduce shortages or overages.
+ Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to forecast, plan and facilitate on-time materials to the production line as and when required, avoiding disruption to production.
+ Work independently within established policies and procedures, using discretion and critical thinking to meet expectations for quality, volume, and timeliness.
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 5 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
+ Minimum of 5 years of major experience in manufacturing / supply chain environment
