Ed Herrington Inc. is currently seeking full-time Accounting Manager for daytime Monday – Friday, 7a – 4p.

Summary:
Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and preparation of reports by supervision and coordination of staff by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities including the following. Other duties may be assigned.
+ Prepare reports which summarize company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings.
+ Assists in preparation of budgets and financial plans
+ Assists in annual audit of the company's accounts by an independent CPA firm.
+ Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
+ Collects appropriate data and prepares sales and use tax, highway/fuel use tax, and other tax returns.
+ Reconciles and balances system daily.
+ Prepares cash schedules, including current and forecast positions.
+ Participates in all required training assignments.
+ Displays teamwork and effort in performance of all duties.
+ Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
+ Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
+ Review accounts for discrepancies and reconcile differences.
+ Prepare adjusting journal entries.
+ Establish tables of accounts and assign entries to proper accounts.
+ Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.
+ Report to management regarding the finances of establishment.
+ Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology.
+ Advise management about issues such as resource utilization, tax strategies, and the assumptions underlying budget forecasts.
+ Maintain or examine the records of government agencies.
+ Compute sales taxes owed and prepared sales tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting, or other tax requirements.
+ Provide internal and external auditing services for businesses or individuals.
Supports the goals and objectives of Ed Herrington, Inc. through adherence to company policies, safety guidelines, and work requirements for successful completion of all assignments.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises 5 to 6 employees in the Accounting Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university or B.B.A in Accounting; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical requirements
This position is a sedentary role with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer; however, while performing the duties of this job the employee will need to frequently communicate with others and must be able to exchange accurate information; consistently operate a computer and other office equipment. The employee will need to occasionally move about to meet with customers, access files, and use other office equipment. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
