    Job Description:

    GDIT is hiring a Research Scientist to support the 59th Medical Wing in their Science & Technology office located at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX.

     

    _The 59th Medical Wing Science and Technology (ST) office advises and conducts clinical and translational research on matters pertaining to the medical aspects of the Air Expeditionary Force and the health of Air Force (AF) personnel and beneficiaries. In order to support the required research, ST offices conduct translational research in the areas of emergency medical care, combat casualty care, force health protection, restorative medicine, clinical and rehabilitative medicine and specialty centers._

    What You'll Be Doing:

    + Develops, leads and conducts protocol-driven scientific research addressing various aspects of military medicine, including qualitative and quantitative research related to pre-deployment training.

    + Provide support in writing protocol-driven research proposals, preclinical and clinical protocols, technical reports, final reports, and peer-reviewed manuscripts.

    + Evaluate data sets (provided by the government and collected by the contractor).

    + Provide support in development of establishment of systems, data acquisition, and data analysis.

    + Oversee personnel associated with the projects and manage data.

    What You'll Need (required):

    + PhD degree in Biological Sciences or a closely related field.

    + Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office applications including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint.

    + Proven expertise in qualitative and quantitative research.

    + Must successfully complete and maintain CITI training and remain current.

    + Working knowledge of computing equipment to include physiological data acquisition and analysis.

    + US Citizenship with the ability to pass a T3 security investigation

    The likely salary range for this position is $83,429 - $97,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
