Description

We are looking for a dedicated Patient Access Specialist to join our team in Rochester, Michigan for a part time role. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, supporting both Labor and Delivery and Emergency Department operations. Candidates will play a vital role in ensuring seamless patient access and operational efficiency while contributing to outstanding patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Handle inbound calls professionally and efficiently, addressing patient inquiries and concerns.

• Manage patient registrations and authorizations across multiple platforms, including Epic, Allscripts, and Cerner systems.

• Assist with benefit verification and billing functions to ensure accurate and timely processing.

• Provide support for clinical trial operations and coordinate related patient access activities.

• Cross-train in Labor and Delivery and Emergency Department workflows to ensure flexibility and coverage.

• Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient scheduling and resource allocation.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems to support department needs.

• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational standards.

• Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as required by department schedules.

Requirements • Proficiency in EHR systems, including Epic, Allscripts, and Cerner Technologies.

• Experience in handling inbound calls and providing excellent customer service.

• Strong understanding of patient registration, authorizations, and benefit verification processes.

• Knowledge of billing functions and clinical trial operations.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with rotating schedules, including weekends and holidays.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

• Familiarity with Labor and Delivery and Emergency Department workflows is a plus.
