    Description

    Are you an experienced accounting professional with a specialty in cost accounting? Robert Half has partnered with a reputable organization in search of a Cost Accountant to join their team in a contract-to-hire capacity. The Cost Accountant will focus on analyzing production and operational costs to ensure accurate data reporting and process efficiencies. This critical role will support the company’s overall financial health and strategic planning. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of cost accounting processes, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex financial information to stakeholders.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, including labor, materials, and overhead expenses, providing detailed insights to management

    + Prepare and maintain accurate cost reports to support budget planning and forecasting

    + Conduct regular inventory variance analysis and reconcile discrepancies, ensuring alignment with accounting policy

    + Collaborate with operations teams to analyze and improve cost efficiencies

    + Assist with month-end and year-end account reconciliations related to inventory and cost accounting

    + Maintain the cost database and participate in system upgrades or enhancements as needed

    + Support audits by ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations

    Requirements

    + At least 2-4 years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing or production environment

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or CMA certification is strongly preferred

    + Proficiency in advanced accounting software, ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar), and Microsoft Excel

    + Strong analytical skills, attention to accuracy, and the ability to communicate clearly with non-financial teams
