Description
Key Responsibilities:
General Accounting:
+ Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
+ Own the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
+ Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
+ Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
+ Prepare and present timely financial reports for management and stakeholders.
+ Analyze variances, investigate discrepancies, and provide actionable insights.
+ Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes.
Audit & Compliance:
+ Maintain organized documentation to support audits and financial reviews.
+ Collaborate with external auditors and ensure timely completion of audit requirements.
+ Monitor internal controls and suggest improvements as needed.
Process Improvement & Systems:
+ Help evaluate and improve accounting processes and workflows as the company scales.
+ Assist with system upgrades or transitions, including accounting software and reporting tools.
+ Provide support for automation and integration of tools like QuickBooks, Ramp, Gusto, and Bill.com.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
+ Partner with Operations, Finance, and HR teams to ensure accurate expense tracking, payroll entries, and vendor management.
+ Support special projects as assigned by Finance leadership.
Requirements
Qualifications:
+ 4+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a startup or fast-paced environment.
+ Solid understanding of GAAP and experience managing a full month-end close.
+ Strong proficiency with NetSuite and Excel (experience with Ramp, Gusto, or Bill.com is a plus).
+ Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
+ Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
+ High degree of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred but not required.
