Description
We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our clients team in Castro Valley, California. This Contract to permanent position requires a candidate with a strong understanding of payroll processes, bookkeeping, and light accounts payable/receivable tasks. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with payroll systems and accounting functions, ensuring smooth and accurate financial operations.
Responsibilities:
• Process and manage payroll activities with precision and adherence to company policies.
• Handle light accounts payable and receivable tasks, ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely transactions.
• Perform basic bookkeeping duties to support financial reporting and compliance.
• Utilize payroll and accounting software such as ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, or Paylocity to manage payroll and benefits administration.
• Administer 401(k) and other benefits programs, ensuring accurate deductions and compliance.
• Conduct audits of payroll data to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper documentation and process alignment.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
• Support month-end and year-end financial activities related to payroll and benefits.
• Address payroll-related inquiries from employees with professionalism and clarity.
Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll, bookkeeping, or related financial roles.
• Proficiency with payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, or Paylocity.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting functions.
• Familiarity with benefits administration, including 401(k) programs.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Ability to conduct audits and resolve discrepancies with a high degree of accuracy.
• Strong communication skills to interact with team members and address employee inquiries.
• Up-to-date knowledge of payroll laws and compliance requirements.
