    Description

    We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in East Houston, Texas. This is a Contract-to-permanent opportunity, offering the chance to contribute to financial reporting and support for ongoing construction projects. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial operations, assisting management with critical insights, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards.

    Responsibilities:

    • Prepare and oversee financial reports to support construction project management and operational decision-making.

    • Manage month-end close activities, including journal entries and general ledger adjustments.

    • Reconcile accounts and perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.

    • Handle accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes efficiently.

    • Utilize Dynamics 365 Business Central for financial data management and reporting.

    • Analyze financial data using Excel, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables, to provide actionable insights.

    • Ensure compliance with quarterly filings and assist with regulatory reporting requirements.

    • Collaborate with leadership on ad hoc projects and financial analyses as needed.

     

    Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience, preferably in the engineering or construction industry.

     

    • Proficiency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting.

    • Experience with month-end close processes and journal entries.

    • Strong knowledge of Dynamics 365 Business Central.

    • Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.

    • Ability to perform accurate account reconciliations and bank reconciliations.

    • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
