We are looking for a highly skilled Controller for a growing organization. This role is an excellent opportunity for a Controller to lead financial operations and ensure compliance with accounting standards while supporting organizational goals. The ideal Controller will possess strong expertise in governmental accounting and financial analysis, along with a proven ability to manage complex budgets and contracts and be a hands on individual as this is a hands on role while managing a staff.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage all aspects of the organization’s financial operations, including auditing and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of month-end close processes.
• Develop and maintain budgets, providing insights into financial planning and forecasting.
• Ensure compliance with federal government contracts and regulations, including proper accounting practices.
• Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and improve overall efficiency.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audits and adherence to financial policies.
• Manage financial reporting using accounting software systems and tools such as Crystal Reports.
• Implement and oversee controls for governmental accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support organizational objectives and financial transparency.
Requirements • Proven experience in auditing and financial management, with a focus on government contracts.
• Strong knowledge of governmental accounting principles and federal regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems and tools, including Crystal Reports.
• Expertise in managing general ledger and month-end close processes.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and oversee budgets effectively.
• Solid analytical skills with experience in financial analysis and reporting.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is a plus.
