Description

Our client, a well-established law firm, is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join their Estates & Trusts practice group in their Oakland office. This role involves trust administration, court-supervised probate administration, and estate planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in probate proceedings from initiation to final distribution and be comfortable managing a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Assist with trust administration, including asset transfers, preparation of trust accountings, and beneficiary communications.

+ Handle court-supervised probate administration, managing cases from commencement to final distribution.

+ Draft and review estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance healthcare directives.

+ Prepare and file court documents, including petitions, motions, and inventories.

+ Conduct legal research and ensure compliance with California probate and trust laws.

+ Coordinate with clients, financial institutions, and court personnel to facilitate case progression.

+ Maintain organized case files and track deadlines to ensure timely filings.

Requirements

+ Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a paralegal in estates, trusts, and probate law.

+ Strong knowledge of California probate procedures, estate planning laws, and trust administration.

+ Proficiency in court filings, legal research, and drafting estate planning documents.

+ Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

+ Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and clients.

+ Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program is preferred.

+ Notary Public is a PLUS
