Description We are looking for a skilled Controller to oversee and manage the financial operations of our organization in Fresno, California. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy of financial records, compliance with regulations, and the effective implementation of accounting policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will bring exceptional leadership, analytical skills, and a strong understanding of accounting principles to support the organization's success.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and internal financial statements.
• Develop, implement, and maintain accounting systems, policies, and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare and present detailed financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to management, offering insights and recommendations.
• Conduct analysis of financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure timely filing and payment of taxes to local, state, and federal agencies while maintaining compliance with all reporting requirements.
• Coordinate and manage external audits, including financial, government, and insurance audits.
• Supervise administrative records, ensuring proper retention and organization of documentation.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with federal, state, and local gaming regulations, including Title 31 requirements.
• Collaborate with department managers and the General Manager to provide financial insights and support operational goals.
• Participate in staff meetings and contribute to organizational strategy, while completing ongoing training as directed. Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and QuickBooks Enterprise.
• Strong understanding of general ledger, financial statements, and tax compliance processes.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail in handling financial data.
• Ability to communicate effectively with department managers and senior leadership.
• Must obtain a Card Room work permit from the City of Fresno Police Department and a Key Employee badge from the California Gambling Control Commission.
