Description

We are on the lookout for a Controller to join our team in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Controller will play an instrumental role in leading our accounting operations and providing insightful financial data to support strategic business decisions. You will be tasked with ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing accounting processes, and enhancing internal controls.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the local accounting team and manage day-to-day functions such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, fixed assets, and payment processes.

• Collaborate with operations teams to provide financial insights that drive efficiency and support business initiatives.

Budgeting and forecasting, providing meaningful insights to help cost savings and generating accurate financial records.

• Conduct cost and margin analysis by project and cost center, identifying potential areas for cost optimization in collaboration with leadership.

• Evaluate and enhance internal financial processes and controls, initiating improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

• Maintain compliance with internal approval procedures and broader corporate financial policies.

• Manage year-end audit activities, including physical inventory counts, and ensure the accuracy of all related financial records.

• Coordinate federal and state income tax compliance with external advisors, including estimating and managing prepayments.

• Monitor income and expenditure trends to maintain financial stability and highlight any areas of concern.

• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly and year-end financial statements and management reports.

• Support monthly closing activities, including reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial forecasting.

Requirements

• Cost Accounting and manufacturing experience is required

• Familiarity with various accounting software systems

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services

• Proficient in the use of CRM

• Ability to use Crystal Reports

• Comprehensive understanding of accounting functions

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)

• Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Familiarity with auditing practices

• Understanding of budget processes

• Competence in budgeting - forecasting

• Experience in creating cash flow forecasts

• Understanding of manufacturing variance

• Proficiency in variance analysis

• Experience in manufacturing cost accounting

• Knowledge of manufacturing costs

• Strong skills in financial analysis

• Familiarity with financial close process

• Understanding of financial compliance

• Knowledge of internal control method
