    Purchasing Manager is responsible for the management and administration of purchasing processes with emphasis on maintaining adequate stock levels to support daily production demands. Employ effective logistics coordination to optimize inventory levels and minimize inbound freight costs. Develop, implement and monitor cost controls for production materials and MRO expenses. Liaison with upper management, suppliers and internal customers, as required, to maintain clear communication throughout the supply chain.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Maintain and manage MRP processing and planning systems

    • Tactical purchasing of materials and components based on MRP output

    • Monitor and track material costs for purchased goods

    • Coordinate logistics activities of inbound materials with freight carriers and PHC receiving department

    • Monitor and report supplier performance monthly

    • Maintain and enhance relationships with suppliers

    • Ensure Purchase Department is ISO compliant

    • Continuously assess and improve purchasing processes by reviewing standards, costs and supplier feedback

    Qualifications

    • Degree qualified or equivalent in a business related field

    • Minimum five years’ experience in a manufacturing environment purchasing role

    • Supervisory experience

    • Strong Excel skills and analytical competence

    • Proficient in a working ERP environment and understanding of MRP

    • Superior verbal and written communication skills

    • Organized and able to effectively manage multiple tasks with appropriate prioritization
