Description

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize our database systems across development, testing, and production environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring high performance, availability, and security of databases, as well as supporting developers and analysts with data access and architecture best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server and/or other database platforms (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle)

+ Monitor database performance and proactively tune for speed, efficiency, and reliability

+ Manage backups, restores, and disaster recovery strategies

+ Implement and enforce database security policies and access controls

+ Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, including performance bottlenecks and outages

+ Work with development teams to optimize queries, stored procedures, and indexing strategies

+ Create and maintain documentation of database configurations, standards, and procedures

+ Support data migration, upgrades, and schema design efforts

+ Ensure compliance with data governance and retention policies

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ 3–5+ years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator

+ Strong expertise in SQL Server, including SSMS, performance tuning, and T-SQL scripting

+ Experience with database backup and recovery, replication, and high availability solutions

+ Familiarity with cloud database environments (e.g., Azure SQL, AWS RDS, GCP)

+ Understanding of indexing, query optimization, and stored procedures

+ Ability to collaborate with development, DevOps, and BI teams

+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Preferred Skills:

+ Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra)

+ Knowledge of PowerShell or Python scripting for automation

+ Experience with ETL tools and data warehousing concepts

+ Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or Oracle DBA
