Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join the team in Green Bay, Wisconsin. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial data, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting audit processes. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your accounting expertise while contributing to the success of our organization.

Responsibilities:

• Gather, analyze, and interpret financial data to prepare reconciliations, work papers, and schedules.

• Compile and submit financial reports.

• Assess program procedures for efficiency and recommend and implement process improvements.

• Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of audit processes and corrective action plans.

• Deliver training on accounting procedures to maintain consistency and provide updates or on-demand training as needed.

• Perform bank reconciliations, manage the general ledger, and complete month-end close processes.

• Maintain accurate financial data reporting and assist with cash applications.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in Accounting is required; a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is preferred.

• At least 5 years of experience in the accounting field is required.

• Demonstrated experience in accounting is necessary.

• Proficiency in bank reconciliations, general ledger, and journal entries.

• Strong skills in month-end close processes and cash applications.

• Solid experience with financial reporting and data analysis.

• Familiarity with compliance requirements for federal grants and audits.
