Description We are looking for a highly skilled Sr. Internal Auditor to join our team on a contract basis in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will conduct a comprehensive assessment of fiscal processes, ensuring adherence to established controls and procedures. This is a critical opportunity for an experienced auditor to apply their expertise in accounting and auditing practices to support organizational compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Perform detailed assessments of general accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and expense processing.

• Review and evaluate process matrices to ensure effective implementation of control measures.

• Conduct thorough audits of financial reporting and identify any discrepancies or areas for improvement.

• Analyze and validate expense reports to ensure compliance with organizational policies.

• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to address audit findings and implement corrective actions.

• Develop and refine audit plans to support a robust internal control environment.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel to compile, analyze, and present financial data effectively.

• Ensure that all auditing activities align with industry standards and organizational requirements.

• Prepare detailed audit reports summarizing findings and recommendations for senior management.

• Monitor the effectiveness of implemented controls and recommend enhancements as needed. Requirements • Proven experience in auditing, particularly in internal auditing roles.

• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and payroll.

• Proficiency in developing and executing audit programs and plans.

• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies.

• Familiarity with expense processing and financial reporting practices.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under tight deadlines.

• Effective communication skills to present findings and collaborate with team members.
