Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Newark, New Jersey. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in managing core accounting functions while ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial operations. This position offers a hybrid work environment and flexible scheduling to support work-life balance.

Responsibilities:

• Handle payroll processing, billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash receipts, and cash disbursements.

• Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring accurate journal entries and reconciliations.

• Prepare and review account reconciliations, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.

• Reconcile bank accounts and generate related journal entries to reflect accurate financial data.

• Create and process invoices with attention to detail and timeliness.

• Oversee grant reconciliations, matching agency expenditure reports with payments made.

• Support month-end close activities, ensuring timely completion of accounting tasks.

• Utilize NetSuite software to process payroll entries and other accounting functions.

• Collaborate with team members to cross-train and ensure continuity in accounting operations. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

• Strong knowledge of bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance.

• Expertise in preparing accurate journal entries and conducting month-end close activities.

• Familiarity with NetSuite or similar accounting software is highly preferred.

• Proficiency in payroll processing and related systems.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Excellent analytical skills to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.

• Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively in a hybrid team environment.
