Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant/Analyst Reporting to join our team in Indianapolis, Indiana. In this role, you will oversee the preparation and submission of external financial reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies. This position requires collaboration with multiple departments to deliver accurate financial filings and maintain the integrity of financial reporting processes.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and submit accurate financial filings, including reports for regulatory and legal compliance, on a consistent schedule.
• Lead the preparation and filing of key financial reports, such as Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K, with a focus on utility industry regulations.
• Draft and review financial statements, footnotes, and supporting schedules to ensure accuracy and adherence to compliance standards.
• Oversee the tagging and review process to ensure data is presented in accordance with applicable regulations.
• Monitor new accounting regulations and assess their impact on financial reporting processes.
• Collaborate with external auditors and internal teams during quarterly reviews and year-end audits.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls under Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Section 404 and support audit testing activities.
• Participate in special projects, including system implementations, process improvements, and technical accounting analyses.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with finance, legal, regulatory, and operational teams to enhance cross-functional collaboration.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• CPA certification or progress toward CPA designation is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting or financial reporting for a publicly traded company.
• Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and SEC reporting standards.
• Proficiency in financial reporting tools such as Workiva (Wdesk) or similar platforms.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems like NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP.
