Description We are looking for a meticulous and organized Accounting Clerk to join our team in Lowell, Arkansas. This Contract-to-permanent position is essential to maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring smooth operations in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and other accounting functions. The ideal candidate will excel in problem-solving, attention to detail, and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities:
• Process and verify invoices for accuracy, approval, and timely payment through various methods, including checks and electronic transfers.
• Manage vendor records, track expense reports, and address any discrepancies or inquiries with vendors.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices, post payments, and reconcile accounts to maintain accurate financial data.
• Analyze aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts to ensure timely collections.
• Enter financial data into accounting systems with precision, ensuring all records are current and compliant.
• Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and sub-ledgers to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in preparing documents and reports for audits and financial reviews.
• Contribute to month-end and year-end closing processes, including creating journal entries and financial summaries.
• Support the accounting team with special projects and ad hoc tasks as needed.
• Ensure all accounting activities comply with company policies and standard accounting practices. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
• A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a similar role.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Oracle, or SAP, and strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel.
• Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles and practices.
• Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with vendors, clients, and team members.
• Experience with financial reconciliation and familiarity with audit processes is a plus.
