Description

This leading 20-attorney firm is seeking a contract-to-hire medical malpractice paralegal to join their team! This role is hybrid in the Walnut Creek office (3 days on-site, 2 days remote).

Key Responsibilities:

+ Support attorneys in all aspects of case management, including preparing legal documents, discovery responses, subpoenas, and pleadings.

+ Conduct case-specific research, including medical and legal research, to assist with trial preparation and strategy.

+ Maintain and manage case files electronically, ensuring all deadlines and procedural requirements are met.

+ Communicate professionally with clients, medical professionals, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders.

+ Coordinate deposition schedules, trial calendars, and meetings for attorneys.

+ Assist in document production and organization for hearings, mediations, and trials.

+ Continually monitor developments in medical malpractice law and best practices to ensure efficient case support.

Requirements

Requirements:

+ Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Paralegal specializing in medical malpractice and litigation.

+ Strong understanding of medical terminology, legal procedures, and litigation processes.

+ Proficiency in legal research tools, eDiscovery platforms, case management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.

+ Paralegal certification or equivalent education preferred.

+ Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work setting.

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
