The NCDMV is seeking to hire an individual as the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles Deputy Commissioner of Modernization.
The person selected for this position will act as an advisor to the NCDMV Commissioner to provide assistance in making modernization and operations improvement for NCDMV statewide. This position will be responsible for ensuring strategic initiatives are developed and implemented for optimal staff performance and customer service throughout the state. Key responsibilities will include developing long term goals and strategies and evaluating the steps and identifying challenges to reaching these goals. This position will oversee the execution of strategic initiatives and special projects.
Additional duties will include ensuring clear and consistent communication throughout NCDMV is maintained regarding strategic planning as it relates to modernization activities. Building strong stakeholder relationships and engagement is also important for the success of this position. Position must exercise problem solving skills and foster a collaborative atmosphere for internal and external stakeholders.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three (3) years of program experience in the area of assignment, including two years of managerial experience in the public or private sectors involving significant decision-making authority in the planning, organizing and directing of operations in the areas of the assigned program(s); or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
