    Position Description:

    The SME Software Developer (PL/SQL) will provide support services for all aspects of our client’s Reliability and Maintainability Information System (REMIS) software development process, including initial planning, design, software development and coding, prototyping, auditable documentation, manual testing, automated testing, and configuration. This role requires deep expertise in Oracle RDBMS, PL/SQL programming, and SQL performance tuning, along with a strong understanding of modern web technologies and development tools.

    This position may be performed anywhere in the Continental US

    • Minimum 7 years’ experience analyzing, designing, troubleshooting, implementing business logic, data access code, and creating automated test cases for complex web application architectures.

    • Expert-level experience in several of the below areas:

    o Oracle RDBMS in general

    o Strong SQL skills (creating/using complex queries, joins, analytics)

    o Experience and/or knowledge of complex PL/SQL functions, procedures, packages, and types

    • Experience/knowledge in the below areas:

    o Languages: HTML, Java, JavaScript, jQuery, Typescript

    o Code Migration Tools: Git, GitHub, GitLab

    • Experience/familiarization with:

    o SQL Tuning and Procedure performance

    o Virtual Private Databases, Oracle X-Streams, and Oracle Application Security

    o Languages: Microservices

    o Tools: JMeter, Checkmarx, Sonar Cube, and TIBCO Jasper Reports

    o Framework: Spring (especially Spring MVC, Sprint Boot)

    o Automation Tools: Selenium Web driver, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams

    • Must have excellent multi-tasking and time management skills.

    • Support the team process and participate on cross-functional teams.

    • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, within a military framework.

    • Be analytically inclined with attention to detail and accuracy and consistent follow-through to ensure problems are resolved with the ability to respond to last-minute requests.

    • All candidates must be able to perform 40 hours of annual security training, per contract requirement.

    • Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires U.S. Citizenship.

    • Must be a US citizen and have a SECRET clearance

    Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:

    • B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent.

    • Experience with Jira and Confluence

    • Experienced in assessing and developing the test automation framework.

     

    CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $88,200.00 - $173,500.00.

    Your future duties and responsibilities:

    • Architect and optimize complex PL/SQL solutions to support high-performance, scalable database applications.

    • Design, modify, and maintain database structures, stored procedures, functions, and packages.

    • Serve as the primary technical authority on PL/SQL development, providing guidance and mentorship to development teams.

    • Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices to ensure maintainability, performance, and security.

    • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to translate functional requirements into robust technical solutions.

    • Troubleshoot and resolve critical database issues, including performance bottlenecks and data integrity concerns.

    • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for database architecture and development standards.

    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including automation, refactoring, and adoption of modern tools and practices.

    • Ensure compliance with data governance, security policies, and regulatory standards.

    • Support Agile development cycles by participating in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups.

    • Design and execute unit, integration, and regression tests to validate PL/SQL code functionality, performance, and reliability.
