Description

Lisa Cole with Robert Half is partnering with a are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing team. This role will play a key part in supporting our financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and contributing to strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting skills, a collaborative spirit, and experience in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

+ Assist with monthly and year-end close, including posting journal entries and reconciling accounts.

+ Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations and record all bank transactions.

+ Prepare accurate and timely financial reports in accordance with GAAP.

+ Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.

+ File sales and use tax returns and manage property tax compliance.

+ Handle contractor and business license applications and renewals.

+ Oversee fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules.

+ Support internal teams with ad-hoc financial reports and margin analysis.

+ Collaborate with the accounting team on audits, financial analysis, and budget planning.

+ Provide documentation for year-end audits and support external auditor requests.

+ Assist in revenue and cost allocation and analyze income statement variances.

+ Participate in special projects and continuous process improvements.

Requirements

Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

+ 5+ years of accounting experience, including 2+ years in the construction industry.

+ Strong working knowledge of GAAP, financial statements, and month-end processes.

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred).

+ Familiarity with audit procedures, tax filings (sales/use and property), and licensing compliance.

+ Excellent organizational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.

+ Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and leadership.

+ Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
