Description
Are you an up-and-coming accounting professional looking to develop your skills in a thriving industry? Our client, a growing leader in property management, is seeking a Junior Accountant to join their accounting team. In this role, you will play an integral part in processing financial transactions, maintaining property management records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Key Responsibilities:
+ Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements for multiple properties under management.
+ Perform bank and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of data.
+ Record and process accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), including tenant payments and vendor invoices.
+ Help maintain budgets for properties, tracking variances and preparing financial reports for stakeholders.
+ Support the preparation of journal entries and general ledger maintenance.
+ Work with property managers to resolve discrepancies, assist with tenant inquiries, and address billing issues.
+ Assist with lease accounting, rent roll updates, and coordinating collection processes.
+ Contribute to month-end and year-end closing activities.
+ Participate in audits by providing required documentation and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Requirements
+ 1-2+ years of accounting experience; property management experience preferred.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and property management/accounting software (e.g., Yardi, AppFolio, or similar platforms).
+ Ability to handle multiple properties with accuracy and attention to financial deadlines.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work collaboratively across teams.
+ A proactive mindset to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
+ Familiarity with compliance requirements related to real estate or property management is a plus.
