Description We are looking for an experienced Payroll Accountant to join our team in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. In this role, you will handle payroll operations with a strong focus on accounting, tax administration, and reporting. This is a long-term contract position that requires expertise in multi-state payroll processes and employee tax implications.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee payroll processing for a growing workforce of 640 employees across multiple states, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Manage tax administration and reporting, including handling tax implications for contract-based employee relocations.
• Utilize accounting principles to maintain general ledger entries related to payroll activities.
• Process semi-monthly payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
• Collaborate with benefits providers to manage transactions and ensure proper deductions.
• Review and post employee timecards using HRIS systems, ensuring data integrity.
• Conduct audits on payroll records to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Engage in informed discussions with stakeholders regarding payroll tax matters and reporting.
• Use advanced Excel functions, such as pivot tables, for payroll data analysis and reporting.
• Work on-site two days a week to support payroll operations and team collaboration. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll accounting, with a focus on multi-state payroll operations.
• Proficiency in HRIS systems, including UKG Pro and other timekeeping platforms.
• Strong understanding of payroll tax administration and reporting requirements.
• Experience with 401k and RRSP administration processes.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables and data analysis.
• Familiarity with auditing payroll records for accuracy and compliance.
• Ability to handle full-cycle payroll operations in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
