Description

We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee and manage the financial operations of our hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. This role is integral to ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of accounting processes, budgeting, audits, and financial planning activities. The ideal candidate will provide leadership to the accounting department and collaborate with senior management to support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all accounting functions, including maintaining and reconciling the general ledger.

• Coordinate the preparation and distribution of accurate financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.

• Lead treasury functions, including cash flow management and projections.

• Direct annual external audit processes and serve as the primary liaison with auditors.

• Conduct monthly financial analyses and provide detailed reports to support organizational decision-making.

• Supervise the preparation and review of operational and capital budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to accounting staff, fostering growth and adherence to policies.

• Monitor accounts receivable aging and work closely with the Revenue Cycle team to ensure proper valuation and reserving.

• Develop and update accounting policies and procedures to maintain compliance and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Proven experience in accounting, financial management, and auditing within a healthcare or hospital setting.

• Strong knowledge of budgeting processes, cost reporting, and reimbursement strategies.

• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor teams effectively.

• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail in financial analyses and reporting.

• Familiarity with treasury functions, including cash flow management.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification required.
