Description We are looking for an experienced Director of Accounting to oversee and optimize financial operations within our organization. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in accounting systems and a proven ability to lead teams to success. Based in Newark, New Jersey, this position requires a strategic thinker who can ensure compliance, streamline processes, and drive financial excellence.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, standards, and company policies.
• Oversee auditing processes and collaborate with external auditors to ensure accurate reporting.
• Implement and optimize accounting software systems such as BlackLine, ADP Financial Services, and Concur.
• Develop and manage budgets, providing accurate forecasting and financial analysis.
• Drive improvements in accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team, fostering growth and development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate financial processes with CRM systems.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and support decision-making.
• Monitor and report on key financial metrics to executive leadership. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is preferred.
• Extensive experience with accounting software systems such as BlackLine, ADP Financial Services, and Concur.
• Proven expertise in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other core accounting functions.
• Strong knowledge of auditing practices and financial compliance regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and manage budgets effectively.
• Exceptional leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring accounting teams.
• Proficiency in CRM systems and their integration with financial processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy and detail.
