Reports To: Director of Technical Operations & Analytics
Job Summary:
We are seeking a strategic, technically capable, and insight-driven Analytics Engineer to play a critical role in maturing our analytics ecosystem and informing business decisions across the organization. This role goes beyond reporting — we are looking for someone who can uncover trends, identify root causes, and propose data-backed strategies to improve operational efficiency, profitability, and digital performance.
In addition to building dashboards and data models, you’ll help design and shape our emerging data warehouse architecture in AWS S3, incorporating multiple data sources via SQL, APIs, and ODBC connectors. You’ll bring experience with data cleansing, ingestion, and modeling across diverse systems like Salesforce, HubSpot, HHAExchange, and operational databases. Your creativity in connecting and interpreting data will directly influence strategic planning, service line optimization, and marketing performance.
This is a high-impact role for someone who is equal parts analyst, architect, and strategist, with a passion for delivering meaningful insights that drive business transformation.
Ke y Responsibilities:
+ Lead the development of dynamic dashboards and self-service reporting solutions using Power BI, Tableau, and Power Query.
+ Translate business questions into analytical solutions with clear KPIs, root cause findings, and actionable insights.
+ Clean, model, and transform data using SQL and modern ELT tools (e.g., dbt, Fivetran, or custom Python pipelines).
+ Collaborate with business stakeholders to validate definitions, streamline intake processes, and standardize reporting logic.
+ Document business logic, data definitions, and reporting flows for transparency and reusability.
+ Assess existing Excel and Power Query reporting to consolidate and eliminate inefficiencies.
+ Ensure data accuracy, reduce refresh bottlenecks, and increase trust in analytics output.
+ Guide data warehouse design and data lake architecture in AWS S3, including ingestion from SQL databases, APIs, and other external data sources.
+ Support the construction of a unified reporting layer by advising on schema design, data cleansing routines, and feed automation.
+ Identify hidden trends in operational, financial, and marketing data and communicate opportunities for revenue growth or cost reduction.
+ Collaborate with leadership to suggest data-driven shifts in service lines, campaign strategy, or patient/caregiver engagement.
+ Think creatively about how disparate data sources can be linked to solve business problems or uncover new insights.
Strategic Thinking & Business Acumen:
+ Ability to connect technical work to business goals and revenue outcomes.
+ Adept at asking the right questions to surface hidden drivers or missed opportunities.
+ Comfortable challenging assumptions with data and providing “so what” insights to stakeholders.
+ Brings a product-thinking mindset to analytics: scalable, repeatable, and outcome-oriented.
Education & Certifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
+ Advanced degree (e.g., Master’s in Business Analytics, Data Science, or Information Systems) is a plus — particularly when paired with hands-on experience in SQL, BI tools, and cross-system data integration.
Experience:
+ 5+ years of hands-on experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or analytics engineering roles.
+ Proven track record designing and maintaining dashboards, reports, and data pipelines that drive business decision-making.
+ Experience leading the transition from decentralized or manual reporting to standardized BI platforms.
+ Strong background working in cross-functional environments with stakeholders from Operations, Marketing, HR, or Clinical teams.
+ Demonstrated ability to manage end-to-end analytics projects — from requirement gathering through implementation and optimization.
+ Prior exposure to healthcare, home care, or regulated environments (e.g., HIPAA) is a plus.
+ Experience supporting or preparing for the buildout of a formal data warehouse is highly preferred.
+ Experience working with cloud-based data lakes or warehouses (e.g., AWS S3, Snowflake, Redshift) and advising on schema or infrastructure design.
+ Hands-on experience integrating diverse data sources — including APIs, SQL-based systems, ODBC connectors, and cloud applications.
+ Demonstrated ability to generate meaningful business recommendations from data, not just reports — ideally contributing to operational or strategic decision-making.
+ Track record of working with business teams to explore 'what-if' scenarios and uncover previously overlooked business opportunities.
Technical Skills:
+ Advanced proficiency in SQL and data modeling techniques.
+ Hands-on experience with BI tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
+ Experience with Power Query and Excel for advanced data manipulation.
+ Familiarity with ELT platforms like dbt, Fivetran, Airbyte, or similar.
+ Experience working with or designing for cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) for structured, analytics-ready reporting.
+ Experience advising on or supporting cloud data lakes (e.g., AWS S3, Athena, Redshift Spectrum) for ingesting and organizing raw/semi-structured data.
+ Comfort working with APIs, webhooks, and ODBC-based data feeds for near-real-time data sync.
+ Working knowledge of Python or scripting for automation is a plus.
+ Understanding of dimensional modeling, data governance, and version control best practices.
Soft Skills:
+ Strong business acumen and ability to translate data into operational insights.
+ Excellent communication and presentation skills.
+ Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently.
+ Collaborative mindset with experience working across operations, finance, marketing, and executive teams.
+ Strong problem-solving ability with a focus on driving practical outcomes from data analysis.
Certifications (Preferred but Not Required):
+ dbt Certified Developer
+ Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate or Tableau Certification
