    Description

    Our client in the education industry is looking for a Cost Accountant to join their team and support key financial operations. In this role, you will be responsible for tracking costs, analyzing budgets, and providing insights into the institution's financial performance. If you have a strong background in cost accounting, attention to detail, and a passion for empowering educational organizations, this position could be an exciting opportunity for you.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Analyze program costs, operational expenses, and departmental budgets, ensuring accurate allocation and reporting.

    + Assist in developing and monitoring budgets for various educational initiatives, identifying cost-saving opportunities.

    + Prepare financial reports to provide insights on cost structures and expenditures. Evaluate trends and recommend improvements.

    + Maintain accurate records of institutional costs, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and government funding regulations.

    + Develop cost forecasts for upcoming projects and programs, ensuring resource optimization.

    + Establish and maintain strong internal controls to ensure financial integrity and compliance in all accounting processes.

    + Work closely with administrators, program directors, and finance teams to support financial planning and policy development.

    Requirements

    + 2+ years of cost accounting experience; prior experience in the education industry or working with funded programs is preferred.

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.

    + Proficiency in cost accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with financial systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms is an advantage.

    + Ability to analyze complex data and present findings clearly.

    + Understanding of education funding models, grants compliance, and government regulations is desired.

    + Strong ability to explain financial concepts to non-accounting stakeholders and collaborate effectively across departments.

    + Strong multitasking ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
