Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this long-term contract role, you will play a vital part in managing vendor relationships, processing invoices, and ensuring accurate and timely payments. This position requires strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining compliance with financial regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities:

• Generate and review weekly payment run proposals to ensure accounts payable aging is balanced and accurate.

• Perform monthly account reconciliations and complete all month-end tasks within designated deadlines.

• Verify the accuracy of financial entries, postings, and documentation, ensuring proper codes and descriptions.

• Identify and report discrepancies within accounting records to maintain accurate reporting for the accounting team.

• Process electronic payments and explore opportunities for increased electronic payment usage.

• Accurately code incoming invoices for non-inventory, inventory, subcontract, partnership, and customer refunds.

• Handle non-inventory expense processing, such as leases, utilities, and daily operational expenses for multiple sites.

• Prepare annual 1099 tax forms and assist with internal and external audits as needed.

• Update and document processes regularly, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

• Research and resolve invoice-related issues while addressing vendor inquiries and ensuring strong communication. Requirements • Proven expertise in accounts payable processes and vendor relationship management.

• Proficiency in Great Plains Dynamics and Great Plains Accounting software.

• Advanced skills in Excel for financial data management and reporting.

• Experience in handling high-volume invoice processing with accuracy and efficiency.

• Ability to code and approve invoices systematically while ensuring compliance.

• Familiarity with preparing and managing annual 1099 tax forms.

• Strong analytical skills to reconcile accounts and identify discrepancies.

• Excellent organizational and communication skills to interact effectively with vendors and internal teams.
