Summary
Simulation Maintenance Technician III on the Mobile Close Combat Tactical Trainer (MCCTT) at Camp Shelby, MS on the Army Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations (TADSS) Program (ATMP).
Essential Functions

• Maintains, repairs, troubleshoots, modifies and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g., radar, radio, television, telecommunication, navigational aids, personal and main frame computers and terminals, industrial, measuring, and controlling equipment).
• Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
• Displays an understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment.
• Applies technical knowledge to incorporate engineering changes and upgrades to the satisfaction of the customer.
• Work may be reviewed by supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices.
• Provides technical guidance to lower-level technicians.
• Present hardware, software, and or subsystem problems to design and support engineering teams.
• Troubleshoots, updates, and configures Linux and Windows based operating systems during replacement and re-configuration of system computer network systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair complex electronic/electromechanical equipment and systems, subsystems, local area networks and peripheral workstations.
• Utilize common and special purpose test equipment to isolate malfunctions and perform repair actions.
• Performs maintenance support anywhere the training device is located.
• Performs complex circuit equipment repair and modifications.
• Performs rust prevention and corrosion control.
• Performs corrective action.
• Performs maintenance scheduling IAW technical manuals and requirements.
• Applies networking knowledge to resolve network setup and configuration issues.
• May be required to perform repairs on pneudraulic, hydraulic, and HVAC equipment.
• Accurately maintain component and parts levels in the storeroom.
• Captures and records accurate and timely maintenance history ensuring that unique corrective measures for work orders and repair are annotated into the Management Information System (MIS).
• Requires limited supervision.
Travel
• Limited travel may be required to various locations across the U.S.
Expected Hours of Work
• A standard 40-hour workweek, Monday to Friday. Must be able to work occasional shift, night, weekend, or holiday hours in support of military training.
Supervisory Responsibilities
May serve as lead technician or shift supervisor. Responsible for providing guidance, mentoring, and quality oversight for junior maintenance staff.
Education and/or Experience
• Associate’s degree in electronic technology (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university and five years minimum work experience in a related discipline or five years related military training or a combination of education and experience.
• Five years of increasingly complex and progressive experience in computer systems / networking, and simulation platform maintenance.
• Prefer past work experience with computer systems / networking, and military simulation platform maintenance.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
• Quality assurance/equipment condition analysis experience desired.
• Hydraulic systems theory and operations experience desired.
• Experience with generator maintenance.
• Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems including command line interfaces
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and schematics.

Ability to comprehend, calculate and apply principles of business math.
.Computer Skills
Solid Technology skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications are essential. Experienced and proficient in the use of standard personal computer software tools; including word processors, spreadsheets, presentation graphics, databases, virtual meetings, team collaboration software, project tracking and databases.
Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems including command line interfaces
Reasoning Ability
Ability to identify and define problems, gather and analyze relevant data, establish facts, and draw sound, logical conclusions.

• Sitting and standing: The ability to remain in a stationary position for part of the time, and to occasionally move around the office.

• Vision: Close vision for computer work.
• Lifting and carrying: Moving small items and possibly lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
• Climb a ladder up to 25ft
• Attendance: Regular, predictable attendance is required.
