    As Studio Technician, based in Torrance, CA, you'll provide essential hands-on support for our video production studio. Working closely with the Lead Studio Coordinator, you'll help prepare the studio, assist with lighting and audio setups, and support video shoots and live events. This position combines technical skills with organizational abilities in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The role requires flexibility in scheduling, as overtime may be necessary to support production schedules and live events.

    About Us

     

    We are supporting an in-house corporate video production and post-production department delivering high-quality video content, live events, and creative solutions. We believe that strong communication is the foundation of success, and our goal is to help our internal clients communicate with engaging content.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    Studio Operations & Setup:

    • Assist with studio setup and breakdown for shoots and events

    • Support lighting rigging, cable management, and equipment staging

    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe studio environment

    • Track and manage equipment inventory

    • Operate a scissor lift and work safely at height on lighting grids and pipe systems

    • Rig lighting fixtures securely to sound stage pipes and grid systems

    Technical Support:

    • Operate basic lighting and audio equipment under supervision

    • Assist with camera setup and monitor configuration

    • Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance

    • Support live productions and vendor shoots

    • Work with both Edison and Bates electrical cabling systems

    • Perform basic electrical work and cable maintenance in a studio environment

    Production Assistance:

    • Act as a production assistant during shoots including operating slate, cue talent, and managingassembling props)

    • Help coordinate talent and crew logistics

    • Assist with AV and streaming setup for live events

    • Capture behind-the-scenes content when needed

    Administrative Duties:

    • Help manage studio calendar and booking requests

    • Assist with vendor coordination and deliveries

    • Document production workflows and equipment usage

    • Participate in safety checks and compliance procedures

    • Basic understanding of video production and studio operations

    • Familiarity with lighting and grip equipment

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools like Asana

    • Strong organizational and multitasking skills

    • Comfortable with physical tasks and active work environments

    • Ability to operate a scissor lift and work at height

    • Understanding of electrical safety and cable maintenance

    • Experience working with Edison and Bates cabling systems

    • Strong understanding of rigging lights to studio grid and pipe systems

    Ideally, You'll Also Have:

    • Experience with DMX lighting apps such as Blackout and Sidus Link)

    • Exposure to live event production or streaming

    • Interest in developing technical skills in lighting, audio, and camera work

    • Associate’s degree or coursework in Film, Media, or related field

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

    • Capable of standing for extended periods

    • Ability to work at heights (lighting grid)

    • Valid driver's license for occasional travel to support productions

    Additional Information:

    This position occasionally requires overtime to support production needs, live events, and tight project deadlines. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as some projects may require early morning, evening, or weekend hours.=
