SUNY Delhi seeks a dynamic, forward thinking and engaging Faculty member to join the School of Nursing (https://www.delhi.edu/academics/schools/school-of-nursing-arts-and-sciences.php) . The position provides instruction within the faculty role for the associate degree/prelicensure nursing program (https://www.delhi.edu/academics/majors-programs/associates/nursing/index.php) , a fully on-ground program on campus.
Duties will include:
Program Development:
+ Participate in annual systematic assessment of the academic program
+ Participates in analyzing data and make recommendations for curriculum and programmatic revisions where necessary
Teaching Responsibilities:
+ Provide evidence-based instruction in accordance with the policies set forth by the College including in-classroom, laboratory, clinical and/or simulation.
+ Post and maintain regular office hours for the convenience of students
+ Participate in the assessment of course, student learning, and program outcomes
+ Integrate applied learning opportunities to enhance involvement and strengthen comprehension of the material
Advisement:
+ Provide accurate and timely advisement of students
+ Guide and counsel students toward personal and career development
+ Monitor students' fulfillment of progression requirements
Academic & Organization Commitment:
+ Serve on departmental and campus-wide committees
+ Participate in departmental, school, and campus-wide faculty meetings
+ Participate in accreditation reviews and reports
+ Engage in the academic and organizational life of the college
+ Pursue scholarly interests
+ Participates in faculty development focused on content related to teaching, and areas required by accreditation
+ Engage prospective students and accepted students though recruitment strategies, open house events, and accepted student days
+ Promote and represent the School of Nursing in the community and with clinical partners
Job Requirements:
+ MSN degree or matriculation in an MSN program
+ Active, unencumbered, licensure as a registered nurse in New York State, required by the start of the appointment
+ Experience in a clinical setting
+ Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience teaching nursing at the college level
+ Experience in on-ground simulation at the pre-licensure level
+ Willingness to engage in scholarly activities
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong attention to detail; and computer skills
+ Demonstrated ability to teach diverse populations
+ Understanding the value of civic engagement
Additional Information:
+ Salary $55,000
+ This is a 10-month academic year, tenure track position
