    Duties Description Under direct supervision of the Professional Engineer 2 (Industrial), the incumbent will review, evaluate, and develop recommendations, implement determination on variance petitions associate with public and private sector programs and provide expert engineering consultation on safety and health matters to the Division of Safety and Health staff. The incumbent will meet and deal with the public, professional engineers, architects and other professional consultants and represent the Commissioner of Labor, when requested, in judicial and quasi-judicial proceedings pertaining to the Labor Law and OSHA Standards and Industrial Code Rules. The incumbent will assist at public hearing on revised and new standards and providing additional technical information. Occasional travel is required, and satisfactory means of transportation is necessary.

     

    Minimum Qualifications This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide program (NY HELPS).     Additional Comments A medical examination will be required prior to appointment, and you are responsible for payment of the clinical laboratory test fee.
