Job Description
Responsibility
Summary:
Responsible for the practice. Develops and coordinates efficient department procedures that support the operations of the office. Acts as liaison with companies, carriers, and internal departments to insure delivery of services and accurate billing. Overall responsibility for providing other administrative functions of the department. Maintains effective verbal and written communications at multiple levels within internal and external customers. Coordinates activities of the office. Directs and guides staff and ensures appropriate utilization of human and capital resources.
Salary Range: $61,079.00-$71,812
Education:
Minimum: High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred: B.S. in business or healthcare administration.
License/
Certifications:
Minimum: BLS required through RQI. Must successfully completed NYS approved course for podiatry x-ray within 6 months of hire.( NYS Podiatry Radiology Course for Unlicensed Persons (nysed.gov) or Radiology Course For Podiatric (unlicensed) Assistants (nyspma.org) (https://nyspma.org/aws/NYSPMA/pt/sd/news\_article/394341/\_PARENT/layout\_details/false) )
Preferred: Certification obtained from a Medical Assistant School licensed by New York State preferred
Experience:
Minimum: 3-5 years experience in Physician Practice operations, 3 years in a supervisory role. Experience with computerized patient scheduling. Experience with Microsoft Office products including word, excel and power point Preferred: Previous supervisory experience in podiatry or other surgical specialty practice. Knowledge of Physician billing. Ability to create and manage an operating budget. Medent EMR system experience preferred.
Essential Job Functions:

Develops and coordinates efficient departmental procedures that support the operations of the office. Supervises the development of PI activities for internal benchmarking. Oversees day to day operations of practice and oversees employees of same. Responsible for ordering clinical/office
Insures timely access to appointments as well as timely service to customers who present for services.
Works together with the Assistant Vice President and staff of the office to develop a business plan that identifies new programs/services or changes to existing services to increase revenue and/or customer satisfaction.
Maintains current knowledge of managerial programs. Supervises office employees and carries out human resource functions including but not limited to, Payroll, orientation, performance appraisals, PTO requests, and recruitment/retention activities. Orders supplies, approves invoices, and evaluates vendors for cost-saving opportunities.
Medent user for the office. Responsible for end of month billing procedures for the office. Trains staff on Medent system.
Performs Other duties as assigned.
