    Job Description

    Leads and guides accessioners in daily accessioning duties. Handles and/or acts as a resource for difficult or complex issues related to accessioning. Performs pre-analytical processing of specimens and a variety of clerical duties in support of department.

    Job Responsibility

    + Leads and guides accessioners in the performance of routine duties.

    + Handles and/or acts as a resource for difficult or complex issues related to accessioning.

    + Prioritizes, schedules, assigns and monitors work to optimize operational service.

    + Performs pre-analytical processing of specimens and clerical duties.

    + Receives, sorts and performs accurate data entry for all specimens entering the laboratory.

    + Receives and processes written/electronic requests from physicians for routine, STAT and/or special laboratory tests.

    + Follows appropriate handling requirements for specific specimens.

    + Identifies and documents situations that may adversely impact test performance or reporting of results.

    + Rejects incorrect or inappropriate specimens.

    Job Qualification

    + Associate's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

    + 4-6 years of technical experience, required.

    The salary range for this position is $31.25-$32.19/hour
